INSPIRATION
China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Survey (CHARLS) is a large-scale interdisciplinary Survey project jointly conducted by the National Institute for Development, Peking University, China Social Sciences Survey Center, Peking University, and the Youth League Committee of Peking University. The China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) aims to collect a high-quality nationally representative sample of Chinese residents ages 45 and older to serve the needs of scientific research on the elderly. In this project, by borrowing from the surrealist style, I show the mental journey from rejection to acceptance to expectation in the practice of CHARLS.
OUTCOME - Disorder
This work shows the first feeling of coming to the village in the city. The keywords are crowded and disorderly. Crowded refers to the random construction of the house, and disorderly refers to the random installation of electrical wires and pipes, giving people a dazzling feeling. This work interprets these two keywords through exaggerated expression techniques.

OUTCOME - Panopticism in Urban Village
This work is inspired by a rental house in an urban village. The floor plan of this building is a back shape with 122 rental houses on each floor. The first time I came here, the panopticism that Foucault mentioned in the book named Discipline and Punishment immediately appeared in front of my eyes. They are related to a certain extent, because living here people who do not seek any quality of life, their only purpose is survival. Based on these, I show them in the form of illustrations, and I add the element of light to the color because I want people here to feel the warmth of life.
